DESCRIPTION: John Lawsons Circus . The Award winning John Lawsons circus is back on the road for 2019 with acts from all over the world. \nJohn Lawson’s circus was founded in 1974 by ringmaster ‘captain’ John Lawson and was originally titled John Lawson’s Circus De Reszke. After five years of appearing at outdoor events all over the country to great acclaim\, Captain John bought a small second-hand ‘flower show’ marquee and with one Bedford lorry began touring the country with the possibly the smallest Circus in the land. \nFrom the first venue in Kent\, September 1980 the show was again well received and has since grown both in size and reputation to its current position. \nSadly\, Captain John passed away in November 1985 and the show is now run by his widow Vonni De Reszke\, Daughter Daniela and Son Niven. They have endeavoured to continue the original aim of the show – to bring traditional live entertainment to smaller communities up and down the country most of which do not normally receive a great deal. \nThe circus has to change and adapt to keep the increasingly sophisticated audiences happy.\nJohn Lawson’s Circus  have tried to improve our facilities for you our audience with new toilet facilities\, luxury bucket seating\, improved Big Top heating and lighting. They now have what we believe to be the most entertaining troupe of artistes to augment the family ‘house’ acts! \n\n” \nAt John Lawson’s Circus\, our season is underway with all the thrills and spills you would expect from the UK’s favourite family Circus. We will be visiting over 50 venues throughout our season\, so that’s over 50 times we have to ” build up and pull down ” the Big Top so as you can imagine we work like a well-oiled machine ( well most of the time!!!)\, All the artistes and staff help with the Big Top and moving our little village around the country plus performing in the ring and making candy floss\, popcorn\,hot dogs ect\, when you work on a small circus you have to be multi talented and we all pitch in with the day-to-day logistics\, so when you watch our show just remember the beautiful girl high in the roof of the Big Top will also be the girl who was up at 6 am driving a lorry to our next venue (with no makeup on!!!) or the Clown who makes you laugh will also be swinging a sledgehammer to drive the 5ft stakes into the ground to secure the Big Top\, But no matter how hard the work is\, or how long the days are\, we wouldn’t change a thing. \nSo leave the hard work to us and sit back and enjoy the wonderful entertainment that is John Lawson’s Circus. “\n \n\n		\n	\n\nShow Dates & Times\n	\n		\n			Saturday 20th April – 3pm & 6pm\nSunday 21st April – 11.30am & 2.30pm\nMonday 22nd April – 3pm & 6pm\nTuesday 23rd April – 6pm Only\nWednesday 24th April – 4.30pm Only \n\n		\n	\n\n	\n		\n			Pickup a flyer from Lordswood Leisure Centre’s reception and your entry will be only £8 per person!\nOr present your Lordswood Leisure Centre Membership card at the ticket desk and you’ll automatically qualify for discounted tickets – just £7 per person\, strictly for LLC members only!\n\n		\n	\n\n	\n		\n			Find the circus on the main field at Lordswood Leisure Centre

DESCRIPTION:The Door – a show about a very special door. A door that can take us anywhere we like. Shall we find out where it could lead us? \nThe door is a dance performance for children ages 2-6 years and their families. Opening the door could be the start of somethng new – an adventure\, a play\, a path to a new world.\nThe door is about how imagining allows us to go from nothing to something\, from nowhere to somewhere. \nThe performance is made by Robin Dingemans as choreographer with two dancers from his company. Robin has also made some real life epic journeys! He was born in New Zealand but now works primarily in Sweden and the UK. He was nominated ‘Oustanding Male Performance’ by the UK Critics Circle National Dance Awards. His work has been supported by Sadler’s Wells\, South east dance\, DV8\, ArtsCross Beijing and many more! \nThese performances are part of the ideas test family arts festival in the October half term. \nEvent information\nTickets are £2.50 per child or £1 per Adult and available to purchase at reception at Lordswood Leisure Centre \nShow timings are 11am & 2pm \nfor more information please visit  www.robindingemans.net
